Dear Spencer of 2025,

Today, in 2030, I write to you with immense gratitude and awe for the journey we embarked on over the past five years. As I reflect on the milestones we reached from 2025 to 2030, I want you to know that every decision, every risk, and every moment of uncertainty has built the extraordinary path we now walk.

It all began on February 14, 2025, when our business set off on its most transformative transition yet—shifting from a highly valued membership network of pet advocates to a media company that would go on to disrupt social innovations for pets. I still remember the thrill when Ben Phoenix from NexiTV joined our team as a live stream producer, sparking the launch of our annual summit, which we proudly live streamed to a global audience. That inaugural Reboundog Summit, held in the UK, sold out and featured world-leading voices, including Rory Stewart (an early supporter of the original Reboundog concept), setting the stage for a series of revolutionary events.

Around the same time, our very first Reboundog Sofa In Person Meet-up in Cumbria—crafted in partnership with the Cumbria Chamber of Commerce, Carlisle Ambassadors, and Cumbria Barclays Eagle Labs—marked the beginning of a groundbreaking convergence of entrepreneurial minds—from pet professionals to tech pioneers—driven to disrupt the region’s most pressing societal challenges. With the securement of new affiliate partnerships and the launch of exclusive member benefits such as one-on-one passion project interviews and a values-driven news platform, we laid a firm foundation for what was to come.

By 2026, our vision and influence expanded rapidly. We appointed our first licensed franchisee for in-person sofa meet-ups in the UK and transformed our global networking events into exclusive gatherings with paid attendance. We unveiled our own brand merchandise and introduced bespoke Social Impact services designed to help large businesses meet their UN Sustainable Development Goals. In bridging the $500 billion pet industry with the $2.3 trillion event industry, we not only disrupted outdated models but also paved the way for a society where partnerships and innovation overcame traditional silos.

In 2027, our ambitions took us across the Atlantic. The Reboundog Summit made its debut on American soil—both in person and via live stream—and our sofa meet-up franchise grew with the appointment of five additional licensed partners across the UK. We followed this momentum into 2028, hosting our first Summit in the European Union and welcoming our inaugural European franchisee, broadening our global impact even further. The following year, 2029, saw us solidify our mission by establishing the Reboundog Social Impact Fund and launching a dynamic model of social franchising that redefined what it means to create lasting change.

None of these achievements would have been possible without the unwavering commitment to our core initiatives & values from our founding members. The Reboundog Sofa Meet-ups evolved into sacred spaces for trusted, curious and transparent conversations—a catalyst for innovative disruption. We built a global network that bridged for-profit and non-profit sectors, uniting pet advocates, rescue organisations, socially conscious businesses, manufacturing, distribution, and tech innovators. This diverse ecosystem transformed industries and, most importantly, redefined the non-profit mindset from perpetual fundraising to ethically generating real, substantial profit. Through these efforts, we created over five million opportunities for disenfranchised individuals—from those on the autism spectrum to the homeless, ex-military veterans, and former prisoners—to become social entrepreneurs, harnessing the transformative power of the human-animal bond and lightening the financial burden on social care systems.

Our success was further amplified by the invaluable partnerships we forged. Collaborating with trailblazing organisations such as the ICP Institute for Canine Psychotherapy driven by Billie (Talyn) Groom, Wagtown under Beth Miller's inspiring vision, the GIIN Global Impact Investing Network, the Pet Advocacy Network (do you remember when Mike Bober, CAE was our first Sofa Guest?), IAHAIO, Holonomics, Boundaryless, Fito, Cambridge Judge Business School (where Kamilla Spark was an early mentor of yours), GreaterThanTheSum, and Tricres enriched our journey, allowing us to extend our reach globally and create meaningful, measurable impact.

On a deeply personal level, I recall the struggle you had of feeling financially confined—a poor boy from a poor family grappling with perpetual scarcity. Through persistent self-growth and the transformative coaching of Aisha Ejaz, MBA at Zenith Street, you embraced a mindset of abundance. This shift enabled you to emerge as a leading change maker, amassing multiple seven-figure investments while guiding a global media company that redefined social innovation for pets.

Today, as I look back from 2030, I am overwhelmed with gratitude—not only for our professional breakthroughs, but also for the personal milestones that have coloured this journey. My wife DK and I celebrated our 50th wedding anniversary on April 2, 2030, in our brand new self-designed home, surrounded by our cherished canine family. Shortly after this joyful celebration, I stepped down from the day-to-day leadership at Reboundog to serve as consultant chairman, eager to usher in the next dynamic chapter of innovation and social transformation.

Spencer, every challenge you faced and every bold move you made was a stepping stone toward a future more brilliant than you can imagine today in 2025. Embrace each moment with the certainty that your vision and relentless dedication are shaping a legacy that will continue to transform lives—both human and animal. Remember, the journey itself was as rich and rewarding as any destination we could ever dream of.

With unwavering gratitude of being in service and determination like a dog with a bone,

Spencer B. Hodgetts 2030
